Goku can meet Bardock in the Other World, Vegeta can go the Gohan route and retire - becoming weak enough to even lose the ability to go SSJ, Ginyu can survive the battle on Namek and go to Earth to revive his team, Cooler can beat Goku before he transforms and basically replace the Androids in the Future timeline as Future Trunks's opponent, Broly can bump his head on Earth and become Mr. In SW2, there's campaigns for each character, too, and they mainly follow the original story, though, by completing certain objectives in certain fights, like beating the opponent before a specific amount of time passes or finishing them with an ultimate attacks you can unlock alternate scenarios and changes in the timeline to play through. Villain campaigns are what-if stories of them winning their respective sagas. Goku's campaign was the closest to the original, Piccolo's has him becoming the strongest Z fighter, fusing with King Piccolo and replacing Goku as Earth's defender, Krillin in his campaign learns Kaioken and the Spirit Bomb and becomes the strongest, etc. In SW1, there was no united story mode, but instead separate stories for each one of the playable characters, with a bunch of differences and changes to make them the main focus of the story.
